Message from the President
And Vice President

          This year marks a milestone in our history: it celebrates the Leslie K Bedford Memorial Foundation’s 15th year serving the community.  These 15 years have been an amazing journey.  As we look at how our path unfolded, the successes and the challenges, we stand in awe.  There has been tremendous support of family, friends, church, community, and most of all, God. 

 

            With the passage of 15 years, we have achieved our mission in educating and inspiring girls.  The Foundation has been guided by our shared vision and belief that girls can reach their full potential when given the tools to do so.  An important key to our success is community involvement.  Because the Foundation is community based, we annually assess the community to identify the needs of girls.  More importantly, we create our programs and conduct our activities in a manner responsive to those needs. 

 

            This year also marks the beginnings of a new chapter in the Foundation’s development.  Moving ahead, we will work collaboratively to increase our visibility and reputation to a higher level of recognition in research, program assessments, cutting-edge leadership education, and scholarships.  A board retreat will be held in July to develop a strategic plan to position LKB as a leading Foundation for the growth and development of girls.  The challenges ahead will require commitment, and we are confident that our LKB Family will be able to surmount every challenge presented to us in the years ahead.

 

            We have enriched the lives of approximately 5,000 girls during these 15 years.  We will strive to accomplish as much, if not more, in the next 15 years and hope that you will continue to support us in that endeavor.
